Pattern and risk factors of retinopathy of prematurity in tertiary care centre

Retinopathy of prematurity is one the commonest cause blindness in sick neonates exposed to excessive oxygen following NICU admissions. The present study was thus conducted assess pattern and risk factors associated with incidence retinopathy prematurity. A retrospective record based at tertiary care centre between 1st July 2017 30thMay 2020 were screened for ROP. Baseline characteristics ROP assessed. zone stage categorized as per International classification along iris neovascularisation plus disease revised international (ICROP) preplus criteria. Data entered excel sheet analysed using SPSS software version 20. Majority belonged gestational age 28 31 weeks (58.8%) 51.2% had birthweight 1.5 2 kg. Male preponderance observed male: female ratio 1.75:1. Amongst various factors, occurrence highly significantly (p<0.01). Subgroup analysis revealed that aggressive posterior (APROP) contributed Type I 11.1% (3) cases. And difference APROP other cases statistically significant Early timely screening all high especially low birth weight small should be mandatory these are most study.
